HAVAS' ​ MAMMOTH IN A JAR

Eko-kom is an authorised packaging company, which provides associated compliance of take-back and recovery of packaging waste. Two years ago their campaign focused on recycled video-clips, however they wanted to start a brand new campaign aimed at communicating basic information about waste sorting in a playful yet educational way.

To this end, we launched a new section on Samosebou.cz called "Cycle TV," which goes hand in hand with the content and concept of Samosebou.cz. The new campaign was launched on May 26th.

The new campaign's major component is the “Mammoth in a jar” video, which depicts an explorer who finds a mysterious object in a cave. He discovers later on that his find is in fact a mammoth in a jar. Meaning that if prehistoric men had had glass we would still be finding bits of it everywhere now, because glass needs more than 10 thousand years to decompose. The idea: if you don’t want your descendants to find glass waste everywhere you had better sort your waste and recycle.

We took advantage of the samosebou.cz online platform, and using parallax technology we deviced a complex interactive experience for visitors in the form of a decomposition calculator where users can check their knowledge about decomposition time of different types of everyday waste. Based on calculator's results, the user can watch his or her own personalized prehistoric sorting story.

The new page is in coherence with the communication strategy platform devised during the previous campaign: Polar Embrace. Both campaigns are keeping with the same core principle to educate the consumer about waste sorting and recycling while keeping it fun.
